Press photographs need more than a good subject

The story must be understandable

Who is shown, what is happening and where was the photograph taken? A precise caption helps with editorial context. Names and roles should be checked rather than guessed from the image.

Credit and usage are part of it

Photographer credit, contact details and agreed usage should be available with the image. Required resolution depends on its use. Clear file names and an organised event selection reduce follow-up questions.

Separate delivery and approval

Fast transfer is useful but does not replace image review. Photographs are first assigned to the event, then their content, information and approval are checked. Only then should authorised recipients be able to select them.
